Meet Our Board

Patti Neely - Secretary

Patti is the Co-Founder of Sarah's Home, and now serves as the Volunteer Coordinator for the home. She has worked in children's ministries for over 40 years.

Passion for Sarah's Home:

I serve on the Sarah’s Home Board because I desire to see girls that have been involved in human trafficking set free and restored through the love of Christ.

Kent Chester - Treasurer

Kent has served as a finance and accounting professional for over 38 years. He received an undergraduate degree in Accounting from the University of Colorado, and has held many finance positions over the years - including Controller, Finance Director, and Vice President of Finance. Kent is an active member of his church, and serves as the church Treasurer.

Passion for Sarah's Home:

In addition to serving within the local church in a variety of areas, I also have a desire to work in more outwardly focused ways to reach the lost as part of our call to help fulfill the Great Commission.  Sarah’s Home primary purpose is to reach out to some of the most marginalized and lost individuals in our society today; to recover, renew and restore girls in desperate need.   I am privileged to be able to utilize some of the gifts granted to me by God to assist Sarah’s Home in fulfilling its mission to help these girls and to show them the amazing love that God has for each one of them.

Cory Schortzman - Board Member

Cory is a certified Sexual Recovery Therapist, and serves as the Executive Director of Transformed Hearts Counseling Center. He received his undergraduate degree from Diane College, and his Master's in Counseling from Denver Theological Seminary. Cory holds a counseling license with the state of Colorado, and is also a member of the National Board of Certified Counselors.

Passion for Sarah's Home:

To be on the Board for Sarah’s Home is a privilege and an honor. My wife and I are in ministry to help individuals and couples who are addicted to porn and need marriage restoration. We have a heart and passion to minister to the sex addict and the exploited. God loves the addicts and the victims. You do not choose to serve in these types of ministries, it chooses you.

Eric Apodaca - Board Member

Eric has served with the Colorado Springs Police Department for over 27 years, and is currently serving as a Colorado Springs Peace Officer. He has received special training on sex trafficking and Homeland Security. Eric also serves as the Head Security Director at Living Hope Church.

Passion for Sarah's Home:

As a police officer, I have seen the dysfunction sex trafficking beings to our families and communities. It is an honor to be a part of a God centered organization that is committed to the restoration, life skills training and spirit renewing for His daughters. As a Board member, I am committed to Sarah’s Home’s and its values, vision and God’s will.
